Five Synexus sites randomise more than 1300 patients in three weeks

05 Nov 2008
Synexus recently randomised more than 1300 patients in a vaccine study at five sites across Europe over a three week period, as part of a global programme.

The Synexus sites were the first to achieve its upwardly revised target due to a sophisticated patient recruitment operation.  Synexus has developed a number of tools to ensure that it meets and often exceeds its randomisation targets.  In the vaccine study Synexus's huge database of patients wanting to take part in a clinical study was an important component.

Michael Fort CEO of Synexus commented: "We are developing a world class patient recruitment organisation which uses a wide variety of tools to find the right patient for each study.  These tools include our huge database, editorials, working with patient groups, advertising, high foot fall promotion events and in countries such as India and South Africa we have established fixed and mobile outreach clinics."

Synexus is continuing to expand its own network of clinical research centres with nine new clinical centres planned to be opened within the next six months.  This will bring the number of centres to 20 in eight countries.
